St. Joseph School

Posted Sunday, March 23 at 2:15 p.m.

From Principal Kari Homb: After review of the most current information available regarding COVID-19 recommendations, St. Joseph Catholic School and the School District of Fort Atkinson will be closed Monday, March 16th and remain closed through Governor Ever’s statewide closure. Per the Governor’s order, our anticipated reopening date is no earlier than Monday, April 6th, 2020. This closure includes all curricular and extracurricular activities.  All before and after school programs have been canceled starting tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Monday, March 16th, parents, students and staff can come in during school hours to get any items that are needed for the next 3 weeks.  This includes school supplies, medication, and other student items that were not picked up on Friday, March 13th.  Teachers will connect with their families concerning academic work for the two weeks surrounding spring break.

We are sharing this information as soon as possible today so families can make arrangements for tomorrow.

Given the quickly changing status of this unique circumstance at the state and national level, we appreciate the understanding of families as Fr. Tim and I are working hard to make decisions in the best interest of our students, families, and the larger St. Joseph Parish community.

Thank you for your support.  My prayers are with you and your families.

If you have any questions after tomorrow, please contact me via email or through the school office at (920) 563-3029 ext 2.

Congratulations to the Fort Atkinson 2019 Graduates and the St. Joseph Catholic School 2015 8th grade graduates!  At the Senior Awards Night on May 22nd, our former 2015 SJS graduates Ernest Bos,  Emmalee Buchta, Braedan Calvillo, Nicole Gjertson, Kourtney Huppert, Riley Koehler, Ben Nelson, Audrey Shockman, Sara Vander Mause and Caiden Willkomm were the recipients of $133,236.00 worth of college scholarships and awards.  Out of the total awards for the evening, this amazing group received 11% of the total scholarships from awards night.  That is amazing.  We are so proud of your efforts!  All of our prayers are with you as you continue on your academic journey.

SJS Mission Statement

Vision of Saint Joseph School

St. Joseph School believes that education should embrace the whole person, and understands that each student is a unique individual created in the image and likeness of God.  Catholic education instills a value system with Christ as the model.

St. Joseph School creates an atmosphere of faith, learning community and caring.  Frequent prayer, participation in liturgies, academic excellence, attention to individual needs and the development of each student’s full potential are the essence of our endeavors.

In cooperation with parents, who are the primary educators, the school’s aim is to instill Catholic principles.  The hope of St. Joseph School is that such an education will motivate the students to assist in building a more Christian community and just society.
