COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Updates

UPDATE: Bishop Donald Hying suspends public celebration of Mass
From Bishop Hying: Effective Tuesday, March 17th, at 12:01 am, I am suspending the public celebration of Masses throughout the Diocese of Madison. This is effective through Friday, April 3rd.  This includes both Sunday and weekday Masses at all parish churches, oratories, and chapels.  I ask that priests still celebrate the Holy Mass in their parishes, but without an assembly (i.e., “privately”). This request for priests to celebrate private Masses especially includes the Sunday and holy day of obligation “pro populo” (i.e., “for the people”) Masses as required by canon law. READ MORE >>

UPDATE: St. Joseph School Closed Starting March 16
From Principal Kari Homb: After review of the most current information available regarding COVID-19 recommendations, St. Joseph Catholic School and the School District of Fort Atkinson will be closed Monday, March 16th and remain closed through Governor Ever’s statewide closure. Per the Governor’s order, our anticipated reopening date is no earlier than Monday, April 6th, 2020. This closure includes all curricular and extracurricular activities.  All before and after school programs have been canceled starting tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Monday, March 16th, parents, students and staff can come in during school hours to get any items that are needed for the next 3 weeks.  This includes school supplies, medication, and other student items that were not picked up on Friday, March 13th.  Teachers will connect with their families concerning academic work for the two weeks surrounding spring break.

We are sharing this information as soon as possible today so families can make arrangements for tomorrow.

Given the quickly changing status of this unique circumstance at the state and national level, we appreciate the understanding of families as Fr. Tim and I are working hard to make decisions in the best interest of our students, families, and the larger St. Joseph Parish community.

Thank you for your support.  My prayers are with you and your families.
